#2. UFO Research and Christian Faith (By Dennis G. Balthaser)

This editorial will touch on a topic that not everyone will agree with and that�s OK, but I felt it was a subject that I could personally talk about based on my own experience as both a UFO researcher and a Christian. Over the years at symposiums and in conversations, I�ve been questioned several times about whether I was a Christian or not, and my answer is always, �Yes I am.� Many people seem to have a problem or �hang up� about that, whereas I never have. One�s Christian belief to me is a personal decision, and I normally don�t emphasize it in my research unless asked about it. I was a Christian long before I became a UFO researcher, so I saw no need to change anything because I chose to do this type research.

#5. The Blue Specter at Camp (by Devin)

We were walking, and we both got a really weird feeling, as if we were being watched. We both turned toward the sea... we saw a blue figure, very tall - about 7 feet - walking through the trees. It made no sound at all. It was a bright blue and glowing figure walking through the forest. It was emitting a shimmery aura, and my friend and I both became very frightened. Whatever it was (possibly a cryptid like a wendigo, or something... I'm not quite sure); at the time we thought it was a ghost because it was said that the old camp was haunted.

With the huge number of really great web sites available today, It is becoming more difficult to select those sites that deserve recognition for their efforts and excellence. The goal of this program is to seek out, evaluate and/or judge paranormal related web sites to determine a single monthly web site that will be awarded the prestigious World Of The Strange Award Of Excellence. Who were the "angels" and "archangels" mentioned so many times in the Christian Bible? What were the original beliefs concerning these beings? Are angels supernatural beings or are they composed of flesh and blood like people of Earth? Are they from another planet or are they from another dimension or plane of supernatural existence?

These, and related questions, are appearing more and more in the writings of individuals ranging from clergymen to scientists.

Is there an "Alien Base" on the Moon? More and more people are coming forward with stories of an Alien presence on the Moon. Rumors say that there is an Alien Moon Base on the far side of the moon, the side we never see from Earth.

It does seem like a better and easier idea than a floating space station with no access to any raw materials or supplies? Do alien abduction stories reflect fear of a sterile, streamlined, regimented metal-and-plastic technological "Laboratory World"?

So-called "postmodernism" or "postmodern theory," as "done" by French writers like Michel Foucault, Jacques Derrida, Jascques Lacan, Roland Barthes, Jean Baudrillard, Jean-Fran�ois Lyotard, and their American followers and admirers (Richard Rorty, Stanley Fish), has often been dismissed as an ephemeral academic fad. Still, even if it is indeed just a passing "highbrow" fashion, it may yet point to a widespread real sense that "modernity" as known for the last couple of centuries may be losing much of its appeal and credibility.

#10. The Jersey Devil

The historic states along America's Atlantic Seaboard have given birth to hundreds of weird tales and unusual stories over the years. One of the strangest is undoubtedly that of the Jersey Devil, a being that is believed by some to be a mythical creature and by others, a real-life monster of flesh and blood. Its origins date back to when New Jersey was still a British colony and has it roots in a wild and overgrown region called the Pine Barrens.

This rugged place is one of vast forests, sandy soil and patches of swamp, where streams that are stained orange from iron ore and cedar slither through the shadows. It is a place that is often forgotten by man. The ruins of homes and buildings vanish into trees and undergrowth, leaving behind little but names that are now nothing more than crossroads in the wilderness. Among the places are Hog Wallow, Ongs Hat, Sooy Place and Mary Ann Furnace, as well as many others. They date back to the colonial days, when settlers actually attempted to farm the Barrens. The sandy soil, dense with pine and cedar, never took to crops and so the colonists moved on, taking harsh memories of the place with them.
