Once again a seeker of the truth, involving the UFO/abduction 
phenomenon, is being persecuted for coming forward with his 
findings. Dr. Michael Salla, Ph.D of American University in 
Washington DC is being censured and threatened with possible 
dismissal from his position as "researcher-in-residence" with the 
institution as a result of his scholarly investigations into the 
possibility of an alien presence in our world.

#2. The Truth Is Still Out There (By Paul Ginsparg) 

Stephen Hawking's recent concession that black holes do not 
irretrievably eradicate information after all has garnered much 
attention. It is refreshing to see the public focused, if just for a 
moment, on an important conundrum that has fascinated theoretical 
physicists for three decades, and prompted much conceptual progress. 
The scientific issues, however, remain much less settled than Dr. 
Hawking's celebrated wager on the question. He most recently 
pronounced: "If you jump into a black hole, your mass energy will be 
returned to our universe, but in a mangled form, which contains 
information about what you were like but in an unrecognizable state."

#3. Astro and Cosmo Facts, NASA FACTS 

NASA was formed in 1958 and from the very start a number of it's 
astronauts and test pilots testified to sighting UFOs or craft of 
undetermined origin. 

Initially Joseph Walker was the first to announce a sighting -- he 
told the National Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Space Research 
in 1962 that he had an aerial encounter with two disc-shaped objects 
the previous month. He had actually filmed the encounter. 

In April 1962, NASA pilot, Joseph Walker, filmed five cylindrical 
and disc-shaped objects from his X-15 aircraft. 
Another test pilot, reported an incident involving a formation of 
UFOs whilst flying at 314,000 feet.

#4. Public Invited To Hunt Meteorites (Source: BBC News) 

Anyone with an unexplained object that has fallen in their back 
garden might want to check whether they have found a meteorite. 

More than 30 are believed to fall in the United Kingdom each year - 
but very few are ever identified. 

And the Open University is now encouraging the public to become 
meteorite hunters. 

A website will help people to discover whether any objects they find 
are really from outer space.

this program is to seek out, evaluate and/or judge paranormal 
related web sites to determine a single monthly web site that will 
be awarded the prestigious World Of The Strange Award Of Excellence.

1566 - UFOs Do Battle In The Heavens Over Basel, Switzerland
A student in Basel, Switzerland reported that just after dawn on 
August 7, 1566, "many large, black globes were seen in the air, 
moving before the sun at great speed and turning against each other 
as if fighting. Some of them became red and fiery and afterwards 
faded and went out."

The August 18, 1911 "Reno (NV) Gazette" carried a brief item 
tided "Meteor From The Sea Does Strange Stunts." It is said that 
upon the arrival of the ocean liner "America Maru" in San Francisco 
from the Orient on August l7th a report was made of a meteor 
which "climbed out of the sea like a skyrocket, traveled through a 
great arc and disappeared." The captain, A.C. Stevens, said it had a 
great fiery head and a long trail and was seen on August 11th.

In August 1950 at RAF Farnborough, Stan Hubbard, an experienced test 
pilot, was walking across the airfield when he heard a humming, 
hissing sound. "I turned round and saw a strange object approaching. 
It looked like an edge-on view of a sports discus. It was pearly 
grey and appeared to be crackling and sparking and gave the 
impression there was something moving on it."

These 1956 events have become iconic in status among UFO historians 
as 'the Lakenheath case' or 'the Lakenheath/Bentwaters case', one of 
the few incidents classified as 'unexplained' by the 1969 Colorado 
University UFO study commissioned by the US Air Force, which 
conceded that "the probability that at least one genuine UFO was 
involved appears to be fairly high."

Highway engineer Rex Heflin took a series of 4 Polaroid photos of a 
silvery craft near Santa Ana, California. Over a period of about 2 
minutes the craft moved east, 'wobbling' slightly, gained altitude 
slowly, then increased its velocity and altitude more rapidly, 
leaving behind a ring of smokelike vapour.

#8. Little Known Facts About Roswell, New Mexico (by: Dennis G.

Moving to Roswell New Mexico from Texas in 1996 to continue my 
interest in Ufology, provided me with a good base for doing that 
research, and also gave me the opportunity to learn a lot more about 
my new home state, and particularly the town of Roswell and Chaves 
County. With the help of many "locals", and particularly information 
I've gathered from Elvis E. Fleming, Chief Archivist of the 
Historical Society for Southeast New Mexico, Inc. www.hssnm.net I 
will try to share some information with you that perhaps you've not 
read or heard about before concerning the area of New Mexico where 
the 1947 UFO crash occurred.

#9. Edgar Cayce - Intro 

Edgar Cayce (1877-1945) - "The Sleeping Prophet". 

Cayce was born on a farm near Hopkinsville, Kentucky on March 18, 
1877. At an early age he gave evidence of his budding talent: he was 
able to master his school lessons by sleeping on his books. At the 
age of twenty-one he developed a gradual throat paralysis which 
threatened the loss of his voice. When doctors were unable to find a 
cause for his condition, Cayce entered the same hypnotic sleep that 
had enabled him to learn his school lessons years before. In that 
state, he was able to recommend a cure which successfully repaired 
his throat muscles and restored his voice. It was soon discovered 
that he could do the same for others.
