They are, a much smaller number than people think.  And some, not all, of
those real abductees (experiencers) have had their memories tampered with by
covert US military mind control -- like Whitley Streiber.

The rest of the sincere abductees are mind control victims -- and most of
them discover they are mind control victims because they remember human
beings during their abductions.
