Thanks much, Kevin. Tesla was a true iconoclastic genius. Don't have
my resource materials any longer so I'm flying on instruments alone
here ... but I believe I recall reading at some point that Tesla
claimed he received inspiration for his many Way Off the Beaten Path
inventions via "telepathic contact with [what he called] Martians."

I don't recall that myself. I beleive he did credit early
discoveries to a sort of "vision" while staring at the sun or
somesuch. Also, I think he interpreted some of his early
radio receptions as possibly what we would call E.T.
Recall, that was at a time when there probably weren't
200 people on air for any reason. We don't know exactly
what he heard but my guess is natural rather than work
of sentient being - like so-called background noise.
