Jedi in Star Wars are Templars from medieval Crusades
When George Lucas created the concept for Star Wars, with his
knowledge of history he must surely have been aware of the parallels
with the history of the Knights Templar, a mysterious and secretive
society of warrior monks.
"In the first Star Wars scripts the Jedi Knights are called Jedi
Templars," said Cavalorn, an historian of the occult seen recently in
Channel 4's acclaimed Rasputin documentary. Lucas' involvement with
the creation of the last Indiana Jones movie, The Last Crusade,
demonstrates his awareness of the medieval Grail Legends, in which the
Templars are the key.
During the Crusades the Knights Templar became the most powerful
religious Order in the world. Today the Knights Templars enjoy cult
status among those who know them. There are whispers in certain
circles that the tale of the Jedi Knights in Star Wars was inspired by
the tale of the Templar Knights in medieval history.
The Jedi are reminiscent of the Templars in certain key points. If the
Jedi are a metaphor for the Templars, that would make the Jedi master
Obe Wan Kenobi none other than Jaques de Molay the lost Grand Master
and leader of the Templars. De Molay was murdered in the 14th Century
by King Phillip of France who conspired with Pope Clement V. The Pope
therefore represents Darth Vader, which makes the King of France The
Emperor of the Dark Side. The Pope bestowed upon the King of France
(called "the frog" by some) the title of Holy Roman Emperor.
