Advanced Beings
Some of us have met Advanced Beings (AB's).
Some AB's are Intelligences Who live in planes parallel to our
physical plane and can make earthquakes, hurricanes, cyclones,
tornadoes, typhoons, drought, plagues, revolutions, etc. as ways to
correct human misbehaviour.
And thus are deserving of the same utter scorn as would, or should, be
extended to any 'god' who would do the same.
Sometimes disasters occur. This is the law commonly summarised as 'shit
happens'. While these are natural or unavoidable disasters they are
simply something that the human race has to deal with. And, usually,
strange as it may seem, they tend to bring out the best in our species -
as I hope is and will be demonstrated in the world's response to the
recent tsunami.
But that we face such challenges with determination does not make these
events good in themselves. It would obviously have been better if that
earthquake had not occurred. The idea that there is someone out there
who can inflict such suffering in the name of 'teaching' us, and then
have the gall to call itself 'intelligent' - much less 'advanced' - is
loathsome in itself.
Any such creature - be it God or extra-planar aliens - cannot be
considered other than our species' most deadly enemy, and should the
existence of such an entity ever be demonstrated then I would hope to
see all of humanity's resources dedicated to the single cause of
destroying that enemy.
So, though I am not prone to anger as a rule, I spit on your 'advanced
beings' as I would spit on any god who deliberately inflicted such
suffering. And I have serious doubts about any human who, in the name
of some religion, revels thus in the suffering of others.
