No: hypothesis is quite the opposite to belief.
It's a "pre-sumption" which you try to falsify.
So if you convinced yourself that you can't
you may be entitled to put some trust into it.
Example: Your hypothesis is, you might break
the ice on your lake,.... you throw your fridge
on the surface ... it holds.... then you may assume
that you can walk there to recollect your stuff :-)
