If someone could actually provide convincing evidence there is a UFO
coverup threads like this would be more credible.  It would be also
nice if people like the original poster could post something that
isn't old material taken from someone else.

There was good reason in the Cold War and even today to create a "myth" that
the US (and the West) is in contact with aliens and has access to boundless
and superior technology and advanced weaponry systems from it's alien
friends.

The primary reason for creating such "myths" and "disinformation" is
intended to frighten potential enemies, with the fear of the unknown, so it
makes good sense as a defence policy.

I don't think there is any doubt about a cover-up. If people knew the truth
then there is every possibility it wouldn't work as a weapon of
psychological warfare used in the interests of national defence.

That said something done for the purposes of disinformation and propaganda
in the interests of National Security doesn't necessarily mean it's a lie it
simple means one is dealing with the *unknown* and that is where it's power
lay. It's like when you are a kid and grown ups tell you about the bogey
man, the terror is based on the unknown, e.g. The fact the bogeyman *may* be
under the bed. If he really was he wouldn't be half as scary. The unknown
has the potential to inspire boundless irrational fear. Whereas what we know
can be quite tame.

I think there most certainly is a cover-up but whether this truly indicates
the existence of aliens or to be more precise government involvement with
actual aliens is another matter, because the purpose of the cover-up has
nothing to do with the truth it's purpose was and is to inspire fear.

The aliens if they exist are either hapless pawns in the whole conspiracy of
the orchestration power (just as Jesus is/was when you think about it) or
are in full cooperation because it is in agreement with their own agenda.

But the main problem I have with the existence of Aliens, as I do in a
belief in Christ (or Christian interpretation of Christ) is why do these
entities always cooperate so completely in the orchestration of earthly
power. Their silence in terms of revealing themselves to everyone on this
planet just makes them pawns in the game under the control of powerful men.
Why would they be complicit in such a conspiracy? They demonstrate no self
will or agenda of their own.
