I'm still riffing on the idea that Catholics could master space travel.

On the basis that we know of only one spacecraft capable of taking
intelligent beings between celestial bodies and the first time it made
the trip one of the occupants read aloud from the Bible I'd be careful
about mocking the idea that religion and space travel are incompatible.
The capacity of religion to cope with anything it encounters has proven
itself time and time again. Scientific knowledge has not driven out
belief. It hasn't even driven it out of its own citadels. Believers
still infest universities.
