Whatever happened to General Electric's big breakthrough in 1956.  It
was announced on TV news shows, then "poof" . . . nothing.  Everyone
was expecting a U.S. space fleet in a few years, but all that we saw
was that old classic sci-fi movie 'Forbidden Planet'.
