Free energy cannot be controlled, unlike petroleum -- if it's easy
enough,
anyone could build it & generate their own power on-site easily and
cheaply.
No more distribution lines to control, no more "grid", etc. think of
the loss
of profit. And it would replace oil, so no more "oil industry"
anymore...

you really think such technology could kept secret?
ofcourse not!
if the major companies stop this from using,every president of that companie would know about this and take action to pevent disclosure.
if he knows about it, then a lot of people would know about it.

advanced secret weapon only provides an advantage if it's kept
secret.

But if everyone in the world can make it and use it, it has no

everything about it, then there's no more reason to build any
superweapons as they'd provide no more advantage... anyone
could build them, and thus there'd be no point.

The fourth reason is information is power. That says it all.

Only if it's held by one entity, does it give power. Why do you think
nuclear weapon *designs* are still kept classified? If they could know
everything then nobody would have an advantage with them and they'd
