i am sortof new to this group - my first ever post
i am wondering - since Senate put the Human Chimera Prohibition Act of
2005 into action -
if there is really no "other life forms" -- then why are they
prohibiting them in this bill & also why the penalties are so stiff &
alarmingly high -- & also, why there are 3 race codes listed
(see chart/link) as if ----ummm ...like the scientists do not know what
to call the speicies !
also-- authoring senate bills is not a cheap venture-- & all the time
they spend in debate is costly as well -- so i wonder why all the
"bother" with something that IS NOT REAL  ???
...maybe it's the governments little way to say "ok - they exist -
don't breed them & especially don't get caught doing so & exPRESSly do
not carry it's embryo in a human womb or else!" --- to keep the
majority of our peoples from going into a tailspin panic & keep the US
from freaking out ?!?
i think thats it-- the outbreak of widespread panic would send us all
spinning into definate chaos & disaster !

Sec. 302. Prohibition on human chimeras

`(a) In General- It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly, in
or otherwise affecting interstate commerce--

`(1) create or attempt to create a human chimera;

`(2) transfer or attempt to transfer a human embryo into a non-human
womb;

`(3) transfer or attempt to transfer a non-human embryo into a human
womb; or

`(4) transport or receive for any purpose a human chimera.
`(b) Penalties-

`(1) IN GENERAL- Whoever violates subsection (a) shall be fined under
this title, imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both.

`(2) CIVIL PENALTY- Whoever violates subsection (a) and derives
pecuniary gain from such violation shall be subject to a civil fine of
the greater of $1,000,000 and an amount equal to the amount of the
gross gain multiplied by 2.'
