OK.  This is the common misconception about aliens.  It's not hard to
fathom, but it is important to see clearly - either your hypothetical
aliens have motivations like humans or they do not.  There's no third
way.

If they are like humans, then they would know that taking over may be
seem for some to be for the good, but in the long run, such control
would stifle our growth.  The arguments against this are many, but all
trite.  The benefits you ascribe would be coming from a parental race.
Parents that do not allow their children to grow ultimately create
destructive, spoiled brats.  There are many such stifled-growth
characters posting to the alien newsgroups - they are pathetic, because
opportunities for growth has passed them by, and for those seeking
growth, they are below contempt.  By the definition of this point of
view, "benevolent" alien take-over leads to humans below contempt.

If they not human in their motivations, then one of two things may
occur.  First, they take over for thier own motives, without regard to
us, and we perceive it as good.  Any body that rules without regard for
the people is by definition a tyrany - remember, the definition of
tyranny is rule in a cruel or *arbitrary* way.  Second, they take over
for their own motives, and it really does seem for the good.  It's the
same as the if-they-are-like-humans then we stagnate argument.

Do you like in a country where you can vote, Harvey?  If so, do you
vote?

I live in a country where people can vote.  Only a small percentage do.
The rest have been hoodwinked into believing in charlatans, yet it is
this non-voting majoirty that will be the first to tell you that it's
not thier fault, the country sucks, and voting only encourages "them."
These are just excuses for not taking action using the political power
they possess.

It's still a damned if you vote, and damned if you don't vote - situation.
That is, it is still unclear.
The young are not voting in even larger numbers - they have the attitude of -
Oh, that political stuff/issues/etc does not concern me.
Only when a party deliberately targets them, such as Zero Interest rates
on Student Loans, do students/etc respond.
A lot of people still feel - what difference does my vote make? Zilch,
Nadda, Zero, etc etc.
You can't even take seriously what politicians say - they put on the pomp
and ceremony as if they know what they are doing, acting like leaders/etc.
In the end, of course it affects the man (&woman) in the street, but they
can't predict what party is going to do what, once they are in power.
This 'change in government' by voting the old ones out, is nonsense in a way.
People still want stability and security within a government, so you cannot
have overnight change, or else the stock market would crash, etc etc.
Democracy is still a con job, a much better one than religion ever was.
And still, people who believe in religion, will never admit that at it's
heart, it's still about power and control over the people. A con at that.

The people that will see your "benevolent" aliens as overlords will be
exactly right - and that minority of people will not coincidentally
happen to be today's voters.

From what I gather about the history of this planet, is that there was
active involvement in our ancient history with ETs.

Take back your heritage, Harvey.  Study history, not hyperbole.  Humans
have kicked some significant ass and we did it all by ourselves.  There
has been no ancient involvement.  This is a hypnotic story to lull you
into accepting that you should give up your political control - it was
better before you were born, even better before that, and before that,
it was really great - therefore, it's not your fault if it's not great
now, so be confused, accept the idea of benevolent overlords, let your
leaders do as they will, and for God's sake, don't vote.

History is written and then rewritten, or not at all.
To get an accurate history would be nice. There are still things secret
from WWII.

It's a form of indoctrination whose sole purpose is your mental
enslavement, even unto your ultimate stupidity.  Fight it.

I use to think that our ancestors caused wars with ET superweapons, etc -
but the Plejarens don't really confirm this at all.

This isn't thinking - it's regurgitation.

It would be good to get some real information, that is not in dispute.
That is what the Plejaren material is suppose to be.
But we don't have the agreement that it is authentic and true, etc.
How can we? When we know hardly anything of our ancient history,
and nothing about what happens in this solar system - present day,
and in the past.
We only have guesses about this and that. That is our so-called history.

Instead that the ETs weren't spiritually advanced at all, and fought 

amongst

themselves - and humankind at that time, were amongst the casualities.

Oh, stop feeling sorry for yourself, and don't let let your friends do
it.  We are not casualties - the truth is the casualty.  The same
people that would have you believe this crap are after your money
selling perpetual motion, and ring-oscillators as power sources.  There
is a name for that sort of thing they do - and it's acceptable because
while there is no excuse for ignorance, you should avoid them with pity
because they are simply as stupid as possible.

But your case is one of ignorance, for which there is no excuse.  Have
heart, have a spine, take control for your life and destiny.  You can
do it!

I think there is a prophecy that there will be official contact with an
ET race, who'll want contact with Earth. Exactly when? I don't know...

The words "official contact" speak to the complete buy-in that you have
for hierarchical control structures.  Go into your mind, burn 'em down,
and tear 'em up.  Abbrogating control is for sissies.

To me, that is very surprising - who'll want contact with this chaotic
messed up earth, who are constantly fighting and bickering amongst 

themselves.

They can't even look after their own planet.

Get a makeover and you'll get asked out, too.  When you discover that
there's nothing wrong with the person asking you out, you really are
OK, then you'll know why anyone would want to contact us.

And if they don't want to talk to you, they want to talk to us.
They'll actually want to have barbeque with my friends and I - strictly
for the sake of attending a good party.

Everything in our so-called conventional world is full of half truths and
misinformation (misinterpreted as to be mixed up).

If you are an older person, then you are beyond hope.  If you are a
younger person, then you are on a crash course with your own total
stupidity.  The sentence I quote by you above is the most contemptuous
self-pity and blathering whine I'll ever care to hear.

"Oh, poor me!  In my entire existence, I have found no truth."  Print
this post of mine, and put it on your fridge where you'll see it every
day.

In a year o two from now, you'll have found truth - that it is for the
the taking but does take work, or that you've descended from ignorance
to stupidity.

Either way, you'll have truth - not half-truth, not misinformation, but
truth.  And you won't be allowed to pollute the atmosphere with that
smelly whine ever again.

or ideas, etc - but I hope we can agree on certain things,
and agree on more, given time and discussion?

I'm sorry that I haven't commented fully - it can be somewhat tiring
