Well if in the scheme of things 

The reality is that the survival of the human race is only important to the
human race.  The Universe can get along just fine without the human race.

One wonders why didn't the ETs (those who had the desire to) land and
take over this Earth.

There's evidence that is precisely how we human beings came to be here and
that our ET creators were war-like and took great pleasure in creating
slave-races for exploitation.

Well yes, according to the Plejarens, we come from an ET gene parentage
of violence, war and agression - that the ETs long ago were domineering
in their conquering.
I haven't seen any indictation that slave races were present on Earth?
Don't know anything of Mars history, or that of the planet that got destroyed.

Not that seeing an ET war would be a nice thing, to
see or undergo.

Given the grey alien technological capabilities, you wouldn't see anything.
Blink, and you're gone.  Period.  

There has been the warning, that once we do have intergalactic travel 
available to us - such confrontations are open to us.

The ability to travel to another galaxy would put you in the same
technological league as the grey aliens and all other ET species who have
attained 'FTL' travel.  But the technology is such that it can not be
attained by a species which is driven by emotion rather than intelligence.

Well you need intelligence to create the technology of interstellar travel.
Likewise for creating a jet engine or anything sophisicated.
Interesting it's the designers that are intelligent - not the leaders
who determine how such technology is to be used.

ie. That with our current primitive attitudes will not be tolerated by other
races and intelligences.

Primitive attitudes/behavior always wind up with the same end -- they
destroy themselves with their own technology.

What is important to note is that the current philosophy of the human race
is simply defined as 'war kill, war kill, war kill'.  Obviously our human
culture & life-philosophy would not be embraced by other off-world cultures
where life and living is their only reason to exist.

we are no more than a colony of insects, our

In another 50 years Earth will be totally inhabitable, so it's safe to say
Earth is already junked by it's inhabitants.  So who'd want them in space
consuming everything, killing all life and wrecking planets?

Mankind should not be labelled as just one person 

The human race must accept responsibility for itself, and that
responsibility should be the same on an individual basis as it is on a
collective one.  There can't be a double standard, or the human race will
only war within itself.

In that you're here to appease God, according to them, and
that allows you to commit any kind of crime - and appealing to God,
can get you off your due responsibility and punishment.
Which is very sad, how religion has truly screwed things up.
But can the followers see this? Basic common sense. No.
