Instead that the ETs weren't spiritually advanced at all, and
fought amongst themselves - and humankind at that time, were
amongst the casualities.

It's not impossible, but we don't have much, if any solid evidence.

Yeah, you do have all of the evidence. Mars is littered with the
remnants of a blow up civilization.

How do we know that? There are some interesting anomalies on Mars but
nothing that has been proven beyond doubt to be artificial as yet.
There's also some hearsay from some extremely dubious sources about
a planet that was blown up in a war and is now the asteroid belt.
But there is no unquestionable solid evidence that any of this is
true. It's fascinating to conjecture about what happened in the
past, but until there is solid evidence that's all it is,
conjecture, and possibly total fantasy.

there is solid evidence -- it's on Mars.

Solid evidence of what though?

I have no doubts about our need to try to make sense of things, the fact
that we tend to interpret things from our own limited experience, and human
imagination is almost boundless. I also know people will believe anything
they want to believe, but also that people can be manipulated into believing
things that are totally untrue, people can be lied to basically.

I don't blame people for wanting to believe in fairy stories and there may
an element of truth and fact in some of them and the truth may be more
surprising than we think. But until we have absolute incontrovertible truth
I think it's quite dangerous believing in things on the basis of hearsay and
nothing more than circumstantial evidence.

Because if you can believe things with little if any solid evidence then you
can be manipulated. For example where are Saddam's Weapons of mass
destruction? Well if millions of people can believe some guy rose from the
dead 2 thousand years ago, or could believe in 1930s Germany that all the
evils of the World were the work of the Jews, instead of as some say today
Alien Reptoids LOL, then it is plain people can be made to believe anything,
even in a democracy.

It is a good question - what to believe in, and what not to.

We have many millions of people today believing in their religion
which has enslaved their minds, hearts and common sense into believing
some kind of gibberish which promises only them (of their faith, or
specifically their church, mosque, etc) everlasting life, and hell for the
rest of us. And these followers are of all types - engineers, scientists,
teachers, students, teenagers, etc etc. I think that religion has done more
harm than good, and it certainly has stuck more rubbish into our heads (that
of 'God' than crystal clear humane philosophy).
And we have various authorities today, being authorities in their fields,
that would have us believe that they are - whether it be sciences,
religion, education (knowledge) and political (economics and government).
Such is the case of establishments, whether they be centuries old, or
decades young.
But they can say some bloody stupid things at times - which only show
they don't know their own field as well as they should.

Being human means we are subject to flaws - and where some kind of power and
authority is involved, it (power) can go to their heads.
Only someone who is truly spiritual and genuine will not be interested in such
vain pursuits or activity.
It is probably not well known that our greatest genuises will probably go
unnoticed - in that they may not have released their greatest work to the
public, fearful it would be used for destructive ends, rather than creative.

We are being 'manipulated' all the time. I don't think the truth of 9/11
has yet been revealed. The facts/evidence don't fit the explanation that we
are given about it all.

The only guide to know whether anything is real - is that everything (facts,
etc) should be consistant within itself. When there are inconsistancies, then
some distortion of the facts are involved. And many inconsistancies show it is
hardly 'real' or truthful at all.
