Actually you could say that ID was a contradiction at the heart of
Marxism. I am sure that when Marxist philosopy is discussed in the
future ID will come up. You see Marxism teaches :-

1) Religion is the opiate of the people.
2) Only workers can add value.

"2" inplies ID clearly. If we cannot manufacture self replicators they
must be the result of ID. In fact Christian countries found no
difficulty in applying computer technology to manufacturing and
military technology. Part of the reason why the Soviet Union got so far
behind was that its idologues were skeptical of computing technology.
Arguably it cost them the Cold War.
