I guess Bentwater is the Limey answer to Area 51.
Hard to say. The Brentwater/Bentwater tale insofar as it confuses
the actual name of the base, involves guys cavorting about in the
woods, involves bent rods, not to mention lighthouses does begin to
sound more like some form of homo-erotic fantasy story, or someone's
idea of a prank. That said what really occurred if anything has
possibly become clouded.

Ms Angelika, I am suprised,
There was a Channel 4 documenatry made many year ago which presented
a convincing case that the Brentwaters UFO defintely wasn't. In that
film
it was made clear that the UFO arose out of US personell operating in
an
unfamilar environment under great stress (IIRC Brentwater was at the
time
a major cold war site)
Well it's an intriguing case, one doesn't like to write these things off
completely, that's a possibility I suppose. But OTOH these were people with
the responsibility for managing and maintaining nuclear weapons and would
have been responsible for launching them if there had been a first strike by
the Soviet Union, and one doesn't normally place people who are likely to
crack -up under stress in such positions.
That is the main problem with the CH4 documentary argument. Also incidents
involving UFOs and the military are not without precedent, there is for
example the whole Foo fighters mystery of WWII which has never been
satisfactorily explained, and again you have highly trained military
personal reporting these things, but in the case of Foo fighters there are
even photographs documenting them. Of course I suppose there is another
angle in regard to Foo fighters which is not mentioned. Given there were so
many airmen killed in WWII maybe the skies were haunted by the dead and
maybe some of those guys just carried on flying and tagged along on bombing
missions. Well these days even the angel of death has to fly supersonic, so
it's a possibility I guess.
BTW Do you have any connections with the benign 'alien' vsitors on
SST/AFC anymore, Shame the spam monsters destroyed thier "wings" :-(
Occassionally but not quite so much these days :)
