good to see you're still here, George!

Likewise :-)

We had a flood of UFO sightings here in the 1950s that was a hoax. A
lot of university students claimed they saw saucers in the sky and
their claims were taken at face value.
However they got so sick of one newspaper uncritically publishing all
the 'aliens are coming' that it was deiced to teach them a lesson.
And in the 70s we launched candles burning under plastic bags ...
Some of these it was claimed reached speeds of several hundred miles
per hour
:-)

Thanks for that.
The only thing we didn't know were the names.
Betcha the UFO crowd are now forming some crazy claim to 'explain' the
explanation

Didn't take too much time. Already they've started nit-picking at
Ray's confession (serious doubts over the claim that it was a sheep's
brain that was used!), and dark hints have been dropped that "they"
forced this new story on "poor Ray".

But fortunately, the AA crowd is pretty small, and most of the
mainstream UFO crowd wrote off the AA a long time ago, or so they
claim NOW. <gr>

They're now pushing 9/11 conspiracy rubbish
