Why bother with it then?  You could find engineering analyses of the entire sequence of events if you wanted to.

For all the analysis, we're never going to know the entire
chain of events with high confidence. The kooks are right that
there are significant unanswered questions. What they don't
seem to realize is that around any major event there are always
significant unanswered questions.
