To not say there is something fishy going on... would be to put
one's head in the sand...

Particularly since one can't actually find a logical motive why Al Queda
would have wanted to attack a Superpower in full knowledge of the likely
consequences of such a foolhardy mission.

OTOH though one can find logical motives why the US administration might
want an excuse to invade Afghanistan and Iraq. One can also find logical
motives why the Isrealies might wish to manipulate the US into a war with
Islam.

To think that, one plane crash, the President suspected nothing at
the time... when the second plane crashed... did they (the government)
know then, what was going on...? And by the third plane crash
(Pentagon)..
Oh, they at last got it! Something terrible just happened...

Well it was reported on the BBC here in the UK (I doubt if it was reported
in the US) that British Intelligence caught wind of the planned attacks of
9/11 and had reported this intelligence to the CIA about a week before the
event. Of course if it's true it means the US administration were tipped off
by British Intelligence a whole week in advance and appear to have done
absolute sweet FA about it. Which of course begs the questions why didn't
they do anything about it? And why did they let it happen? And more
importantly why did all those people have to die, simply to become pawns in
such a hideous game?

Oh yeah, billions are spent on the military and national security,
and the above never happened...
Same for military intelligence, they can't put two and two together -
and if they could... they wouldn't cooperate with their intelligence
gathering so as to prepare the government against such attacks?
Who's kidding whom?

Exactly.

The explanation here was the US relies too heavily on technology in
intelligence gathering. The British Intelligence services OTOH have a much
more hands on approach and a much longer experience of counter terrorism
having had the Whole IRA problem and of course terrorist attacks taking
place on British soil for decades.

Actually I wish I could find the story about British Intelligence warning
the CIA now, it may have not appeared on the BBC Web site. But there is some
examination of the failings of US intelligence still available there.
