Listen. If our faster computer chips and the Internet are due in any
way to aliens they would have set it up. As they undoubtedly have
SAtrificial Intelligence aliens would be watching our every move.

Needless to say there is no sign of alien intervention on the Web for
either goood or bad. If there are aliends on the Web then President
Houston (in the bodyguard Witney Houston was describes as better
looking than the President and able to sing) is going to win the next
election and no exacly what ET wants. Control of AI means ultinately
control of the world. A presidential candidate needs to be telgenic and
have lots of money today. Tomorow our presidential candidate will be
Internet focussed.

wil get you to singularity resources. ET (if he exists) will have been
long since past the singularity. Even if you don't believe in a
singularity as such it is clear that AI imported from elsewhere will
cause a singularity.

There is no sign of any of this happenning. If ET does not want us to
get hold of critical technologies such as Von Neumann machines he is
making a poor job of it. They have been discussed on the Web and we are
taking the critical step of making a robot to assemble flatpacks. From
then on the steps are relatively easy.

Venus - goddess of love and flatpacks. Major terraforming becomes
possible once a basic macine (or strictly speaking a swarm) is
produced. One will also be able to send objects at c/2 and it is this
capability that ET might be sensitive about.

ET isn't trying to make us behave more rationally either. He simply
cannot exist. AI on the web imported by ET does not exist.
