I have asked this question several times but never got a satisfactory
reply.

1) How come it crashed with all the advanced technology?
2) How come a civilization with AI sent carbon based aliens to Roswell?

Well here are your answers..

1). High technology does not guarantee a machine being foolproof or
error-free. We know that by our own technology. Every day it gets better but
it still needs repair/replacement.Equipment needs servicing at regular
intervals, noting lasts forever.

2)Who said they had AI? It is doubtful if humans could produce a true AI
machine with intelligence as good as a 5 year old in the next 100 years.
However, if such technology did exist it would be send out first and then
the carbon based lifeforms would do the real exploring. This is what humans
would do at least and we have only ourselves to compare with at present.
Personally I believe that AI machines of some sort have been used in the
past.
