But at the end of the day there is more evidence supporting the
possibility than there is of the impossibility. So IMO it is more
rational to base ones theories on possibility because the
alternative is impossible.
the ufo craze is imho a new religion, disbelievers
are accused of coverups,treason,conspiricies..etc ,
only to explain for themselves why there is no
physical evidence.
every foggy picture and flic is greeted with oh
and ah and calls it evidence...
But both populist mainstream science, philosophy and religion has an
irrational belief that we are either the centre of the universe or the
centre of creation. This largely assumes we are alone, and largely rules out
the possibility of ET life let alone ET intelligence and visitation.
But if one interprets evidence with such a blinkered view, then one is going
to be blind to the evidence that already exists and ones mind closed to the
possible truth it may hold.
Evidence doesn't have to be 100% conclusive to form a valid scientific
theory. One can draw a conclusion on the weight of evidence alone. Since
there is no real rational evidence we are alone in the universe (the theory
is based on the absence of evidence, and is totally irrational by definition
LOL) then one can't rule out any possibility that the actual evidence
suggests. The truth really is out there :)
