Hi.
Some people like to claim that if the government were to disclose UFOs
everyone would panic. They believe that the government keeps it secret
because the world isn't "ready" for the truth (and according to them
wouldn't be for hundreds, maybe thousands of years, cretainly not
within our lifetimes (even though oil will run out in our lifetimes so
we need that disclosure right now but that's a different point of
debate). But I find such timescales laughably too long.).
But how do these people "know" that panic will most likely occur? Why
might not people just laugh and dismiss it all as crazy, just like a
lot of people do right now when hearing about it? They laugh, say it's
crazy, and dismiss it. It might add more "fuel" to the anti-government
fire, though, but there's already a ton of stuff to do that with.
Look at the stock market. Panic is a term that is used and seen
there. When there is a panic at the stock market, wouldn't the
government be concerned, ie. worried?
The issue you are discussing is the matter of institutions and
authorities, maintaining 'their' authority, maintaining their
control. They do this by what information they feed out.
What has the government to gain, by disclosing information about
UFOs. Nothing. They lose - if they say UFOs are genuine and real,
power and control.
In the end, this is what it is all about. Power and control.
When they repeat a lie often enough and for long enough, the
lie is accepted.
This is done with religion, and note how well that has worked.
