Hi.
Some people like to claim that if the government were to disclose UFOs
everyone would panic. They believe that the government keeps it secret
because the world isn't "ready" for the truth (and according to them
wouldn't be for hundreds, maybe thousands of years, cretainly not
within our lifetimes (even though oil will run out in our lifetimes so
we need that disclosure right now but that's a different point of
debate). But I find such timescales laughably too long.).
But how do these people "know" that panic will most likely occur? Why
might not people just laugh and dismiss it all as crazy, just like a
lot of people do right now when hearing about it? They laugh, say it's
crazy, and dismiss it. It might add more "fuel" to the anti-government
fire, though, but there's already a ton of stuff to do that with.
Look at the stock market. Panic is a term that is used and seen
there. When there is a panic at the stock market, wouldn't the
government be concerned, ie. worried?
The issue you are discussing is the matter of institutions and
authorities, maintaining 'their' authority, maintaining their
control. They do this by what information they feed out.
What has the government to gain, by disclosing information about
UFOs. Nothing. They lose - if they say UFOs are genuine and real,
power and control.
In the end, this is what it is all about. Power and control.
When they repeat a lie often enough and for long enough, the
lie is accepted.
This is done with religion, and note how well that has worked.
Yep. Well the people running the current gov't are very, VERY
power-hungry and money-hungry groups. They like to say the
government is "by the people, for the people", but I disagree. I
think it's "by the businesses, for the businesses". That is NOT
a good government. That sucks butt. But I think that if more
people believe that UFOs are real, and not the government's
lie, then the government will ultimately become powerless to
stop it short of enacting some sort of massive crackdown on
all websites and TV content espousing views on UFOs or
anything that's different from the "official" position, and perhaps
even snoop into people's private lives to see if they are
discussing UFOs with their friends. Heck, they might already
have something like this in place, although they might not be
using it for UFOs, yet. They just have to use all these "anti-
terrorism" measures they've got, and claim all UFO stuff is
related to "terrorism". It's 1984, and it's been so since 2001.
And the year has never, EVER rolled over. Bush & co. are
more interested in lining their pockets then saving the world.
That's for sure. Bush says we need an energy policy that
encourages consumption. That is horribly wrong. But it gives
the oil companies more money and helps the wealthy
entrepreneurs there line their pockets.
Oh, and religion *at it's core*, ie. the true teachings of it, when
viewed without the corruption that the organizations have
thrown in, does contain truth and is _not_ a lie. What is a lie
is people's _interpretation_, for example the stuff that the Earth
is only 6000 years old or that Jesus will come back literally
riding on a cloud. They are taking metaphorical texts far
too literally, and _that's_ the lie -- the _corruption_ brought onto
the religions, not the original teachings.
