maybe when the US Feds "discovered" extraterrestrials THEY panicked and

if people discover beings this advanced exist
they might learn from them THE SECRET OF RULING THEMSELVES
and it could be the END OF OUR JOBS.  (the world of their jobs as
military bullies.)

And then the big megacorporations WOULDN'T GET THEIR MONEY...
THEIR GREED WOULD BE TOAST... (and that's a good thing for the
World, bad for the egotistical power-hungry maniacs...)
