As an atheist, I have always considered Genesis 1:17 to be so
nonsensical that anybody believing it would have to conclude that were it
true, this god would have to be the most energy inefficient entity around.
Billions and billions of stars were created for the purpose of giving light
to the earth at night. Try going out on a night when there is ONLY
starlight and you won't even be able to read a newspaper. Makes the
internal combustion engine and the incandescent light bulb look like
extremely high energy conversion devices.
