Maybe not extinction,

Yes, extinction. You're far worse off than you've been brainwashed to
believe. You have less than 50 years before Earth can support human life.
You're already going extinct. And at this rate only a few human beings will
be able to survive, providing they find another planet to live on -- far
away from the people who killed everything off:

So if oil supplies drop 50% in 25 years (FACT) we're going
to be _destroying_ the planet _faster_ than now? I don't
think so.

THE CURRENT MASS EXTINCTION:
Human beings are currently causing the greatest
mass extinction of species since the extinction of
the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. If present trends
continue one half of all species of life on earth will
be extinct in less than 100 years, as a result of
habitat destruction, pollution, invasive species,
and climate change.

But what would happen if our civilization COLLAPSED
to RIGHT NOW, therefore _HALTING_ all this environmental
destruction? It's going to COLLAPSE _BEFORE_ we
totally destroy the environment. That's a guarantee.
The more I've looked at, the more I'm convinced the
Earth is built in such a way that our greedy civilization
will collapse BEFORE we can destroy it's environment.
Believe it or not, if our civilization imploded right now,
more people would survive than if the Earth were to
suddenly become totally inhospitable right now.

To me, the idea of "damned if we do damned if we
don't" is just a lazy excuse to sit on one's butt and watch
the world just collapse and not do anything about it. That
is the type of attitude that will create the scenarios
you seem to be promulgating. It seems you _want_
to see mankind go extinct, instead of change. Do you?
