Ramey's explanation was issued late in the afternoon of the 8th- too
late for most newspapers except for some evening editions on the west
coast.

So then maybe that was part of the change of story to the
balloon one, but once again then we are not left with any
sort of real proof that it was just a balloon. The problem is,
why hasn't the government disclosed the _real_ balloon
debris, etc. if that's what happened there?

Why on earth would "they" have kept a torn and shredded radar
reflector and the blackened, crumbling pieces of a neoprine balloon?

So then why not just say that they got rid of it?

Give us just ONE good reason for them to have made any kind of fuss
over a small pile of shredded foil and disintegrating neoprine. Just
one GOOD reason, from the viewpoint of 1947.

Why go and give
away a _different_ reflector and say "Here, this is it! This is the
1947 Roswell radar target!"? Why _decieve_?

What the hell are you talking about? what "different" reflector?

They crated
it all off,

Says who...? to where?

Who then do you think picked up all that debris? The farmers?
What was all that military stuff about, anyway? Who picked it up?
Even if it _was_ just a balloon, it was still picked up by the
miltary!

When Marcel went out to Foster's ranch, like he knew that it would be
_just_ a reflector or _just_ a balloon? No- he was told that it
might be a "flying disk". When he got there, he couldn't ID it, so he
brought it in thnking that "this" might be the explanation for all the
sightings in the press over the past two weeks.

so they should have it. And why all the incredible
secrecy, anyway, if the balloon and instrumentation were
made from purely ordinary materials and technology?

What "incredible secrecy"? Please cite.

You mean you didn't hear about all the debris being moved
away and hidden, all the refusals to talk about it?

I asked you to CITE your claims. Please do.

Why
_waiting_ so long to "tell" about it?

Why would the mis-identification of a Radar Reflector be so incredibly
important to anybody? They weren't hiding a damn thing- they just
forgot about it.

Why didn't they let
anyone keep any of the foil?

How do you know if anyone ASKED for a souvenier?

Only the _purpose_ was
classified, the _materials_ were not. There shouldn't
really have been much of a problem taking back a couple
scraps of mylar that's well, after all it's just the same
stuff candy wrappers are made out of.

The Roswell Incident balloons were made out of NEOPRINE- the same
stuff that party balloons are made out of today. Get your basic facts
straight.

There's _no
way_ you could figure out the purpose of the balloon
with a couple scraps of mylar that might as well have
been from your Hershey's wrapper.

The balloon itself is totally immaterial. The only item of interest
was the Radar Reflelctor. The folks runnning the Mogul show were
interested in insuring that no one would wonder why they were flying
high altitude balloon systems with RAWINS that were not part of
weather observation. Given that, there is no way that YOU would make
any connections- that is glaringly obvious. But the Army knew that if
the wrong facts did make into the press, the security of Mogul might
be comprimised, as there were people that could make the proper
connections.

Why are there
documents still withheld, if UFOs are nothing but
balloons, atmospheric phenomena, and other "ordinary"
things?

So you accept the ASSUMPTION that the government and military are
withholding documents relating to Roswell? What happened to your
"neutral point of view"?

Like on one UFO program they talked about how
a "Justification" for withholding UFO documents (not the
actual UFO documents themselves, which would
suggest that to tell what those _reasons_ are would
require divulging the "big secret" (ie. the reasons are
dependent on it)) had been blanked out to the point of
uselessness and it was even shown on screen --
whole pages were nearly 100% covered with marker
ink.

So naturally, you ASSUME that these blacked out sections deal with
UFOs, without a single, solitary fact to support that ASSUMPTION. And
from that, you derive the "fact" that the government is lying. Piss
poor logic abounds here.

And I'll take this opportunity to point out that UFO "documentaries"
are the absolute worst possible sources of information there are. The
sole aim is to entertain, and the producers will not let facts get in
their way to try and sensationalize the subject.

There's something unusual going on. Whether or
not it involves aliens cannot be said with certainty but
there is definitely something far from mundane going on
here.

Only if you abandon all reason, and stick to your pre-conceived
opinions.
