Yeah, that happened to me.
i.e.
After studying intelligence data and outer space matters, things like
plays and sport became meaningless, simple, and boring.

And to be honest, I only liked them a bit in the past anyway.

However, I am guilty of sitting around with Japanese friends all day
watching Desert Storm on TV in 1991 and getting all excited.
