That is not what I meant. I am talking about a meteorite indeed, which

start glowing (and burn) due to it's speed, as soon as it hits the
atmosphere.

So what do you mean? If it was a meteor, it clearly did bounce first then 
hit again and disintegrated. Could it bounce intact the first time?
