They have one that works something like this, but is used to study
biomechanics & how the body holds up in extreme conditions.  I think
they are trying to find a way to change the human genetic structure
and make-up outside of test tubes.  My friend had a cool gyroscope he
loaned to me, that's just a wheel that spins up on a stick.  If the
wheel is spinning counter clockwise, and you hold the stick and turn
in a clockwise circle, it will defy gravity and float up in the air.
If you move in the same direction as the wheel (although on a
different axis), then the wheel gets heavy and moves towards the
ground.  He thought it was anti gravity before he died, and it works
like a charm.  No one seems to understand how it works, but I guess
the navy and air force have used them.  On big old navy ships they
would use them to balance the ships at sea, and in submarines too.  At
wright patterson airforce base I think they are studying how these
gyroscopes effect human development.
