Perhaps maybe it isn't "lovely" everywhere, but I think that
for some reason, wars waged between different planets are
rare or nonexistent. Rather the people of those planets would
be in a situation much like that of the Earth right now, and
would be fighting each other there.

So even though no, it may not be "lovely", I do not think it is
anywhere near as dangerous as what is seen in so many Hollywood
movies -- chock full of all sorts of despotic empires, ruthless
peoples hellbent on destruction and running through the
galaxies blasting planets to bits, whole groups of alien civilizations
warring against whole other groups, wherever you go there's
some alien's battleship ready to shoot you down, etc. That is a
fictitious macrocosm created by our own imaginations which
we've projected the problems of our world onto. I do not think
the universe is a gigantic battleground.
