We bought this watch to determine the altitude here in Colorado and on airplanes. I have COPD and am oxygen dependent. My husband thought that the airlines were 'fudging' on the altitude requirements and wanted an altimeter to check them. We set it in Denver and have checked it on a trip to the mountains. It works well, but other weather factors may vary it a little.
The altimeter function was what I needed and after calibration, (which is easy), it had an accuracy of within 20 feet at 3,000 feet. There's also a graphic display of elevation over time. It keeps good time. It has a countdown timer, stopwatch and Indiglo night-light. I have to re-calibrate about every 3 weeks, but I drive in the mountains often. Also, this Timex watch has a barometric function. It's the size of a regular men's watch. It's the best watch I've owned. You can rely on a Timex!
I bought it for 79 Dollars. It's BIG, even for my large hands, but the good side of it is that I can read the time clearly even while running. The altimeter and barometer need good calibration, like every altimeter and barometer I tried. The temperature is often way off when wearing it on the wrist. You have to keep the watch i n the shadow.
I really like the great chrono and lap features as well as the five alarms - never missing an appointment now ;)
