If a person has to run away from an inconsitency in their life,
especially if they are social pariahs for life choices that don't mesh
with their communities, from an early age these social "deviants from
the mean", are attracted to more ideas and concepts that are
essentially "absurd to the mean", that and some memories of traumatic
events are covered up by hallucinatory mental/chemical fixes that help
re-adjust the "programming schedule". Since there are gay wo/men who
don't go around believing in UFO's the people who do probably have
their own reasons. It behooves an intelligent person to actually talk
to them about it. As far as drugs are concerned, they can do some
amazing things to the body/brain that can lead to some amazing
experiences/cognitions, which can include "experiencing" getting
abducted. I've seen some straight up odd ass crap up in the skies
before, as have people I've known. I don't get shaken up by it, but I
am unemployed right now and usenet is a fine place to conversate about
sundry subjects.

Note: Is it funny that average and mean are homophones?
