We have to be blunt because that is the only thing the debunkers

In 1992, as I began my Frankensteinian hobby (in the San Luis Valley,
Colorado) investigating countless reports of (so-called) anomalous
activity
of ALL kinds (not just ufological) I, like most everyone else, was
programmed
to believe it was visiting aliens from outer space flitting about our
airspace. I could be wrong, but eight sobering years later, I find
myself
seriously doubting this simplistic conclusion.

With the exception of a number of landing-trace cases, unusual
livestock
deaths and abduction cases featuring physical evidence, humankind is
as far
from answers in 2000 as we were in 1947. I feel there is a reason for
this.
The unfounded but popular Extra Terrestrial Hypothesis (ETH) (in my
opinion)
does not appear to be viable and has no irrefutable/unequivocal data
to
support the anthropomorphic conclusion that these objects/craft are
exclusively piloted by visiting "aliens" from another planet and/or
galaxy.
We may be dealing with a form of intelligence that (in some way) is
as
terrestrial as we are -- even if they are still reported non-
sensically
gathering plant and soil samples and using invasive medieval medical
techniques.

There are no experts in "ufology," but there are serious problems that
demand
expert solutions. Unfortunately, a number of career- minded
personalities/self-styled "experts" for years have been running rough-
shod
over creative thinking; and many are saddened by the negative effect
this
distasteful fratricide is having on the field. It is about time that
the
agenda-minded, money-oriented ETH emperor-elites-on-parade begin
accepting
new creative approaches with non-judgmental open-minds. If not, we
will
continue wasting our time stumbling down a self-imposed blind alley
of
popular belief -- boring the public and ourselves further. And until
we stop
the fractious, politically motivated censure of creative thinkers
(like
Jacques Vallee and others) we will continue to render all our efforts
impotent.

When you combine this politicized egotistical squabbling with the
"wanna-believe" wishful thinking of an under-educated, apathetic
public; a
manipulated, sensationalizing media; the utter contempt by science and
the
lack of an agreed upon database format, we will continue spinning our
poor
little wheel (which has always been broken) for the unforeseeable
future. It
is apparent to me that this wheel has been ingeniously fashioned this
way for
a reason and it will continue to hypnotically wobble round-and-round
in place
until we admit there is a possibility that we are (for the most part)
mesmerized by the ETH red-herring.

In my view, without question, certain shadowy elements appear to be
programming and perpetuating cultural belief around this popular
prevailing
view of the ufo question. Whoever-they-are appear to be artfully
exploiting
some aboard our ufological merry-go-round, and this is another
unresolved
area that needs to be addressed and effectively dealt with. Until we
tackle
these and other important issues, the public will continue to become
increasingly numb. And science (for the most part) will continue to
be
justified in publicly ridiculing this important field of study.

Let us stop strengthening these self-imposed barriers toward
understanding
and get creative! Let's shake it up and try things utterly fresh and
new. In
my humble opinion, it will take unbiased creative thinking, non-
judgmental
teamwork and a well-designed and agree upon database format to begin
to fix
this woeful wheel we call ufology.
