Now don't you enjoy at least temporary absolute authority over the Solar system? Seems as though you are acting in the capacity of a Viceroy!
My "absolute authority" is only appropriate for decisions that need to be made immediately. That hardly ever happens. For the vast majority of my charges, there is plenty of time to seek consensus among all of us.
Socialism, communism, capitalism, you have many things from which to choose! Here is a new one: government by consensus. What "type" of government do you feel would best comprise the system you say is needed?I have told he my bad experiences with consensus management process. Although I suppose it arises out the the shortcomings of pure democratic process, where a majority can so easily ignore the minority viewpoint. Democratic governments often try to hybridize themselves to gain some of the advantages of a more authoritarian system, say by hiring a city manager. Uniting all the different customs, beliefs, and traditions of all the world's peoples into a world system that would work would be very difficult.
Suppose it arises out of the misunderstanding of what a true consensus is, Double-A. There is no "majority rule" in consensus, so there is no ignoring or stomping all over the minority viewpoint. True consensus is agreement on the part of everyone. Everyone agrees. THAT is true consensus. And yes, as wild and crazy as it may sound, it is plausible.
You talk below of wasted monies. All monies are wasted that do not improve the human condition on Earth.Knowledge in itself cannot be an end?
Knowledge usually improves the human condition. There are priorities, though. Or should be.
Well, how did we get to were we are today? Carl Sagan speculated it was by genocidal extermination of all other races of apes that showed intelligence and evolving speech abilities. Double-A
That sounds as if he thought H. sapiens was brutal and unforgiving. Their battles with earlier genus Homo and promising primates were defensive. Yet sapiens usually came out victor. And now, things have changed.-- ***** Kiyo System Commander
