Pedophilia is not only a crime but an intellect problem.  The
perpetrator believes if they can con someone into falling for their
carnal desire that equates to superior intelligence (this is a logical
fallacy).  This makes them feel powerful.  Breaking the law and
getting away with it makes them feel more superior especially if they
can get away with it undiscovered.  The power trip feeds the
'neurosis' and it becomes an addiction and the perpetrator must
continually seek out victims in order to feel superior.  It is an
internal mental conflict and of course demonstrated by the acting out
of a faulty illogical thinking process.  This same thinking process
applies to most criminals and is of course the hallmark of a sociopath
and/or psychopath.

15% pf the world's population are sociopaths/psychopaths.

Pedophiles, as often most criminals do (ie gangs)  join forces and
defend each other to mitigate their guilt and justify their actions,
which makes them feel more powerful because they're getting away 
with it.  Birds of a feather...
 
A pedophile is an intellect-deficient person with faulty thinking
processes, as well as all criminals are.
