"Debunk" is a bit of a meaningless term, and it all depends on what
you're debunking.
You can debunk something like homeopathy, a traditional remedy used
for 200 years on the basis that it doesn't fit in with what is
considered "scientific" or current ruling establishment-approved
mentality.
But "debunk" can be used to expose flaws in establishment or consensus
science. eg -

I think the problem is with using the word "debunk" relates to the way
it is used, ie merely saying that something has been "debunked" is of
itself meaningless, and a reason needs to be given, and it is the
reason given that is what is dealt with, not the mere mention of the
debunking (which is meaningless).

Most debunkers have surrendered or died. There are only a handful of
them left (the Traitor; Whorey; VD-Vac, Hagor) but we leave them alone
so we can monitor their activities. Of course we can easily just drop
a few thousand H-Bombs on their headquarters, but until the General
gives us a Green Light® we will string them along.
