THE BIBLE EXPLAINED

A Guide to the Holy Bible
for Parents and Teenagers

-----<back cover text>

Where did you come from?
What is your purpose?
What happens when you die?

These questions--and more--are answered in 'The
Bible Explained', which is based on the teachings
of the Holy Bible. The Holy Bible is a collection
of ancient books which claim to be the word of the
one and only God. This one and only God claims to
be the sole creator, owner, and sustainer of all
things; he further claims to hold the one and only
key to eternal life. Are these claims true? Get
the facts and then decide for yourself.

This document is meant to be understood by everyone,
and is therefore written in plain, simple language,
avoiding complex religious jargon.

Understand the Bible like never before.

Irreconcilable Differences

If you believe the word of God, then you cannot
believe in Evolution. Here's why:

The Origin of Death: According to Evolution, the
cycle of life and death has been ongoing for
millions of years, whereas the word of God states
that death entered into the creation as a
consequence of man's sin, which occurred
approximately six thousand years ago: "Therefore,
just as through one man (Adam) sin entered the
world, and death through sin, and thus death spread
to all men, because all sinned." [Romans 5:12] "But
now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become
the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep
(died). For since by man came death, by Man also
came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam
all die, even so in Christ all shall be made
alive." [1 Corinthians 15:20-22] Thus, we see that
death entered into the creation when man sinned
against God by partaking of the forbidden fruit,
which occurred only about six thousand years ago -- not millions of years ago.

The Fall of Man: In addition to Evolution's
"endless" cycle of life and death, there is another
problem: the fall of man. If Evolution is fact,
then man was not created perfect; he did not sin;
he did not fall into a state of decay ending in
death due to his sin; and he does not need a
saviour to rescue him from his fallen state and
reconcile him to his creator. As you can see,
Evolution denies that man was created perfect;
denies that man sinned; and denies that man needs a
saviour, thereby denying Jesus as being the saviour
of man, contrary to scripture: "'And she (Mary)
will bring forth a Son, and you (Joseph) shall call
His name JESUS (Saviour), for He will save His
people from their sins.'" [Matthew 1:21] "The next
day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said,
'Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of
the world!'" [John 1:29]

Resurrection and Life: In the evolutionary
worldview, death is permanent -- no one can die and
then rise from the death state. This means Jesus
did not rise from death, meaning he did not conquer
death, meaning he does not have authority over
death, meaning he cannot raise the dead, meaning
the dead will remain dead forever -- there can be
no resurrection of the dead, meaning Jesus is a
liar: "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection
and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may
die, he shall live.'" [John 11:25] If Jesus did not
rise from death, no one else ever will: "And if
Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are
still in your sins!" [1 Corinthians 15:17] If you
believe what Jesus said -- that the dead will be
resurrected to life -- then you cannot believe in
Evolution, since death is permanent in the
evolutionary worldview. Additionally, if you
believe in Evolution, then you cannot believe in
miracles, since there is no God to perform
miracles, such as the resurrection of the dead.

The Global Flood: According to the Bible, the earth
and its creatures were created about 6000 years
ago; about 1650 years later, man grew so wicked
that he was about to destroy the earth, so God
saved the earth by flooding it with water, thereby
destroying all air-breathing, land-dwelling
creatures -- except those aboard the ark which God
instructed a man (Noah) to build. If the entire
earth was flooded about 4350 years ago, it would
have put an abrupt end to the evolution of land-
dwelling, air-breathing creatures: therefore, if
you believe the biblical story of the global flood,
you cannot also believe the story of Evolution.

Local Flood Theory: Some have suggested that the
flood of Noah's day was local -- not global.
However, after the flood, God promised: "Never
again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of
the flood; never again shall there be a flood to
destroy the earth." [Genesis 9:11] If Noah's flood
was local, then God is a liar, since there have
been many local floods since. If Noah's flood was
local, why did God build an ark to preserve Noah
and the animals? Why did he not simply move them to
a safe location? Ultimately, it's a matter of
trust: who do you trust -- man or God?

Evolution Reconsidered: Charles Darwin's theory of
Evolution was based on appearances and similarities
among creatures. Darwin can, however, be forgiven
for his unscientific conclusions -- after all, he
did not have access to our modern technology. If
you believe Evolution is fact, I encourage you to
study the science of genetics. Once you observe the
intricate genetic code which controls life, you
will probably conclude that life is the product of
extreme intelligence -- rather than time and
chance. Then, you will begin to ask questions like:
What is the source of this intelligence? What is
the purpose of this intelligence?

When the dust settles, history will record
Evolution as the greatest fraud of our time.

Starting Over: Humans tend to build their belief
system on a particular foundation. But what if,
late in life, you discover that your foundation is
rotten to the core? Will you tear it down and start
anew? -- or will you simply whitewash it and hope
for the best? The greatest tragedy in life is to
discover that the thing you believe to be
absolutely true is not true at all.
