Earth and Industry
Who owns the earth? How should it be used? Should
it be preserved for future generations? Should it
be exploited for resources and financial gain?
Industry and the Environment: An industrialist is
"a person engaged in the management of industry."
[Oxford Dictionary] An environmentalist is "a
person who is concerned with or advocates the
protection of the environment." [Oxford Dictionary]
There seems to be a constant struggle between
industrialists and environmentalists for control of
the earth and its resources, but who has legitimate
authority over the earth? Since the only legitimate
authority over a thing is the one who owns it, the
fundamental question is: Who owns the earth?
Land Ownership and Use: Who has legitimate
authority over the earth? The one who owns it. Who
owns it? The one who created it. If no one created
the earth, then no one owns it and, therefore, no
one has legitimate authority over it, so each man
is free to do with it as he pleases -- there are no
rules: might makes right, survival of the fittest,
the law of the jungle, etc. On the other hand, if
God created the earth, he is the legitimate owner
of it. As the owner, he is free to use the earth as
he sees fit.
God's Vineyard: God is currently using the earth to
bear good fruit -- humans who keep his commandments
that they may receive life eternal in his presence.
If a particular nation does not bear good fruit,
God removes it and plants a new nation in its place
-- a nation which will keep his commandments: "He
(Jesus) also spoke this parable: 'A certain man had
a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came
seeking fruit on it and found none. Then he said to
the keeper of his vineyard, "Look, for three years
I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find
none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?"
But he answered and said to him, "Sir, let it alone
this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize
it. And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after
that you can cut it down."'" [Luke 13:6-9] Thus,
God uproots those who refuse to do his will, so
that the earth is not wasted by them: "Every tree
that does not bear good fruit is cut down and
thrown into the fire." [Matthew 7:19]
Alien Invasion: If a nation refuses to bear fruit
to God, he will give their land to a foreign
nation, who will rule over them: "A nation whom you
have not known shall eat the fruit of your land and
the produce of your labour, and you shall be only
oppressed and crushed continually." [Deuteronomy
28:33] "The alien who is among you shall rise
higher and higher above you, and you shall come
down lower and lower." [Deuteronomy 28:43] We can
see this principle being played out as the former
God-honouring peoples of Europe and America have
become fruitless and are, therefore, being
supplanted by foreigners. Why are Europeans and
Americans turning away from following God? Because
they have been deceived by the false god Charles
Darwin and his false theology: Evolution, which is
the antithesis of Creation.
Planting and Uprooting: In ancient history, God
took the land of Canaan away from the fruitless
nations which dwelt therein and gave it to those
who would keep his commandments -- the Israelites.
In recent history, God took the Americas away from
the nature-worshipping natives and gave it to the
God-honouring Europeans. Ironically, the European
immigrants are increasingly turning away from God
to the worship of the earth under the banners of
evolutionism and environmentalism, which is nothing
more than a resurrection of ancient paganism -- the
worship of the creation instead of the creator.
Environmentalism: An environmentalist is "a person
who is concerned with or advocates the protection
of the environment." [Oxford Dictionary]
Environmentalists see the earth's resources as
finite and can, therefore, support only a certain
number of humans. Thus, they seek to restrain human
population growth, control man's activities on the
earth, and restrict human habitat by declaring
certain areas as wildlife preserves in order to
allegedly protect supposed endangered species of
plants and animals. There is no doubt there are
some well-intentioned environmentalists who
genuinely seek to preserve the earth for future
generations by restricting man's access to it and
his activities on it, which appears to be a noble
endeavour; however, there is a thin line between
caring for the earth and worshipping it.
Environmentalists ought to be careful not to place
the earth above man, since that would be a
perversion of God's mandate: "Be fruitful and
multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have
dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds
of the air, and over every living thing that moves
on the earth." [Genesis 1:28] As we see in the book
of Revelation, if you worship nature, God will
destroy it. Why? God is not willing that anyone
should die, but that all should receive life
eternal; therefore, God will destroy whatever comes
between you and him, lest you should lose your
place in eternity by worshipping profitless things.
If you wish to preserve the earth, refrain from
worshipping it, choosing instead to use it wisely
in accordance with the word of God, who owns it:
"The earth is the LORD's, and all its fullness, the
world and those who dwell therein." [Psalm 24:1]
Environmental Worship: Why do some
environmentalists worship the creation rather than
the creator? Jesus gives us the answer: "Then He
(Jesus) began to tell the people this parable: 'A
certain man planted a vineyard, leased it to
vinedressers, and went into a far country for a
long time. Now at vintage-time he sent a servant to
the vinedressers, that they might give him some of
the fruit of the vineyard. But the vinedressers
beat him and sent him away empty-handed. Again he
sent another servant; and they beat him also,
treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty-
handed. And again he sent a third; and they wounded
him also and cast him out. Then the owner of the
vineyard said, "What shall I do? I will send my
beloved son. Probably they will respect him when
they see him." But when the vinedressers saw him,
they reasoned among themselves, saying, "This is
the heir. Come, let us kill him, that the
inheritance may be ours." So they cast him out of
the vineyard and killed him. Therefore what will
the owner of the vineyard do to them? He will come
and destroy those vinedressers and give the
vineyard to others.'" [Luke 20:9-16] Some
environmentalists want the earth for themselves and
do not want the prophesied Messiah to come and rule
over them, so they do whatever they can to restrict
the multiplication of God-honouring humans, lest
such increase should fulfill the number of
Revelation 6:11, prompting the Messiah to come and
take control of the earth, putting an end to man's
reign on it.
Environmental Fear Mongering: Some
environmentalists use media and various educational
institutions to frighten children into believing
the earth is overpopulated, being destroyed by
industry, its resources are being irreplaceably
depleted, animal species are being driven to
extinction by man's activities, etc. However, God
designed the earth to recycle its resources in
perpetuity, so it will not run out of oxygen,
water, trees, animals, etc.: "Therefore I say to
you, do not worry about your life, what you will
eat or what you will drink; nor about your body,
what you will put on. Is not life more than food
and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds
of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor
gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds
them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of
you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the
lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither
toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even
Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one
of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the
field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into
the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you
of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying,
'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or
'What shall we wear?' For after all these things
the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows
that you need all these things. But seek first the
kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these
things shall be added to you. Therefore do not
worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about
its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own
trouble." [Matthew 6:25-34] God created the earth
to be inhabited by man -- and no one will change
that: "For thus says the LORD, Who created the
heavens, Who is God, Who formed the earth and made
it, Who has established it, Who did not create it
in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited: 'I am the
LORD, and there is no other.'" [Isaiah 45:18]
Therefore, do not permit anyone to scare you into
worshipping the earth, lest you be found guilty of
idolatry and, consequently, lose your place in
eternity.
Environmentalism Versus Industrialism:
Industrialism is "a social or economic system in
which manufacturing industries are prevalent."
[Oxford Dictionary] Industries produce products
which raise our standard of living; however, some
industries produce their products at a cost to the
environment. Thus, environmentalism arose to combat
the negative effects of unrestrained industrialism,
thereby creating an adversarial relationship
between the two groups. Through the effective use
of media to manipulate people's emotions,
environmentalism is prevailing over industrialism
and is currently leading the world down the path to
global communism.
Global Communism: Before the Millennium begins, the
whole world will be enveloped in communism under
Satan. Communism is a political and economic system
composed of two classes of people: ruling and
working. The ruling class enslave the working class
to do the former's will. In the book of Exodus, we
see a form of communism in which the ancient
Egyptians enslaved the Israelites. In the days
preceding the Millennium, we will witness a
parallel of ancient Egypt in which the evil will
enslave the good. However, just as God destroyed
the Egyptians in order to set free the Israelites
to inherit the promised land of Canaan, so he will
destroy the evil in order that the good may inherit
the earth during the Millennium (see Matthew 13:24-
30 and Matthew 13:36-43).
Why Communism: There are two types of people: good
and evil. Good people keep God's commandments; evil
people transgress God's commandments. God blesses
good people and they prosper; however, evil people
bring cursings and dearth upon themselves and must
therefore attach themselves, like parasites, to
good people in order to survive: this is the basis
of socialism and communism; and this is why evil
people prefer socialism and communism over
individual freedom.
Life in the Millennium: Here is an outline of life
in the Millennium: "Now it shall come to pass in
the latter days that the mountain of the LORD's
house shall be established on the top of the
mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills;
and peoples shall flow to it. Many nations shall
come and say, 'Come, and let us go up to the
mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of
Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk
in His paths.' For out of Zion the law shall go
forth, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. He
shall judge between many peoples, and rebuke strong
nations afar off; they shall beat their swords into
plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks;
nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
neither shall they learn war anymore. But everyone
shall sit under his vine and under his fig tree,
and no one shall make them afraid; for the mouth of
the LORD of hosts has spoken. For all people walk
each in the name of his god, but we will walk in
the name of the LORD our God forever and ever."
[Micah 4:1-5]
