In the UK, they are going after all manner of “extremism,” even the absurd
and completely marginal neo-Nazis. The Sunday Herald reports:
Scotland’s new terror tsar has warned that the threat from right-wing
extremism is as damaging to community relations as the menace posed by
al-Qaeda.
In an exclusive interview on his first day as the Association of Chief
Police Officers in Scotland’s counter terrorism co-ordinator, Allan Burnett
said forces should not ignore the latent neo-Nazi presence across the UK.
Fife’s assistant chief constable said the public is at risk because racism
is being used to unite people into violent causes. He said this also
undermines police work to reassure the Muslim community following the attack
on Glasgow Airport last year.

Burnett said: “We’ve had a number of right-wing issues recently in the UK
that again have raised their head in Scotland.
“There have been serious cases down south that have been really well dealt
with by the police down there, but we shouldn’t be complacent about it.
“There’s no point promoting positive race relations if, in claiming to be
everyone’s co-ordinator of counter terrorism, you take your eye off the
right-wing.”
Burnett’s comments are a reminder of the threats facing communities,
following the arrest of an alleged neo-Nazi in Dundee last November.
Sure, Nazi hooligans threatening communities, but what you never hear about
is the distinct possibility these neo-Nazis are a creation of British
intelligence and internal security. Combat 18, or C18, according to a
Wikipedia entry (since expunged), citing Searchlight, Red Action, and “other
commentators on both the left and right, including journalist Larry O’Hara,”
was “created by the British internal security service MI5 to discredit the
BNP [British National Party] while acting as a honey trap, or sting
operation, designed to attract the most violent neo-Nazis in the UK into a
single organization, where they could be monitored more easily. Some
commentators also suggest that it was used by MI5 to infiltrate Loyalist
paramilitary groups in Northern Ireland” (see the Combat 18 citation here
before it was changed on the Wikipedia website).
In the United States, the situation is similar. “In 1979, government
operatives played key roles in the massacre of communist labor organizers
during a multi-racial anti-Klan march in Greensboro, North Carolina. Heading
the KKK/Nazi death squad was Ed Dawson, a long-time paid FBI/police informer
in the Klan. Leading the local American Nazi Party branch into Dawson’s
‘United Racist Front’ was U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms
undercover agent Bemard Butkovich,” writes Brian Glick in his book, War at
Home. “Though their controlling agencies were fully warned of the Front’s
murderous plans, they did nothing to protect the demonstrators. Instead, the
police gave Dawson a copy of the march route and withdrew as his caravan
moved in for the kill. Dawson’s sharpshooters carefully picked off key cadre
of the Communist Workers Party (CWP), including the president and
president-elect of two Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union
locals, an organizer at a third local mill, and a leader of AFSCME’s
organizing drive at a nearby medical center. In the aftermath, the FBI
attempted to cover up the government’s role and to put the blame on the
CWP.”
As recently as 2006, the FBI was running neo-Nazi groups in America, as the
Orlando Sentinel reported on February 15, 2007. David Gletty, an FBI
informant paid $20,000 over a two year period, was “behind a neo-Nazi march
through the streets of Parramore that stirred up anxiety in Orlando’s black
community and fears of racial unrest that triggered a major police
mobilization.”
Britain’s MI5 and the FBI in the U.S. are notorious for creating terrorist
groups and then — in standard problem-reaction-solution fashion — offering
up draconian solutions to the problem they covertly (or not so covertly)
create.
In response to the “neo-Nazi problem” in England, Allan Burnett, as the
counter terrorism co-ordinator of the Association of Chief Police Officers,
suggests communities become “self-policing,” that is to say members of the
community should become snoops and stool pigeons.
He urged communities to be “self-policing” and said the police need to
further develop their “preventative strategy”, which includes the idea of
parents tipping off the police if they suspect their children or other
relatives and friends are being “brainwashed” into terrorism via the
internet or other activities.

“It’s like educating parents about drugs and what signs to look for. We don’t
get it right if parents don’t know what their kids are getting up to behind
their backs.
“We must get ourselves into a position where the parents are concerned, even
at the lowest levels; that we have something set up where they feel free to
come to the authorities.
“We need surveillance — not on communities, but on individuals who are
actively involved or supporting terrorist organizations. We have some
excellent relations with the community, but they can always be better and
deeper.”
In other words, it is not simply the Muslim community that should be
surveilled, but the white community as well. All of this is simply part of
an ongoing plan to convert a former democratic country into a
“self-policing” authoritarian police state.
In the United States, where so-called neo-Nazis are not as active, the same
technique is used, as we are told blond hair, blue eye al-Qaeda terrorists,
indistinguishable from little Johnny next door, are a threat to national
security.
