SURVIVOR SAMOA  (Sa'moa)

AS revealed by Confidential earlier this year,
Ten has confirmed that upcoming series
Australian Survivor will be set in Samoa.

Samoa was chosen as the location of the
much-anticipated spin-off series thanks
to its beauty and remoteness, a TEN
spokesman said.

It was initially reported in January this
year that the series would be shot on the
Malaysian island of Pulau Tiga, where the
first ever American season was filmed in 2000.

Samoa too has also featured on the US version,
but not until 2009.

The series, which has been shrouded in secrecy,
will be hosted by Jonathon LaPaglia and has been
in production for over a month now. Ten will this
week host a launch party for the program in Sydney.

It is the latest revamp of the format locally, with
Seven’s 2006 season the last spin off and Nine
having a go in 2002. The US version has been
running for 31 seasons.
