As long as you do NOT use graphics, they are almost the same speed.  The 
text/command line version is inherently faster, but so long as you set the 
GUI client to be blank, or not to be the screen saver at all, it can run 
just a fast.

In the days when a fast PC could do a WU in about 24 hours, the CLI client
was 15% faster the the best the GUI could do (CLI ver 3.03). It saved
about 3.5 hours per WU.

Up to date hardware will do the same WU in 3 hours. 15% of 3 hours is just
a few minutes but its still 15%.
