FalconFly:

I did a lookup on the Error with a Link provided in a Thread below.

"Error -63 PROGRAM_MODIFIED
"Some vandal's modified the program - either a virus or you
were hacking into it. You'd better reinstall it."

I don't get it, I just renamed the unpacked setiathome Binary
to seti (on a Windows machine), and moved it to the machine via
Samba Share running on it. That sure should not possibly modify
the Binary (?)

Why didn't you just unpack it on the Irix box directly?

I'll give it one more shot, see if I can fix it (this time I
will transfer it via FTP, hope this helps) :p

Very odd, since I used the very same technique for 2 other Irix
Machines, and one Linux machine at well, and these run without
problems.

Perhaps your machine is compromised (that is, hacked). I feel
you pain, in that case, since it has happened to me. But if
it's true, then you really have little alternative to saving
data files that you are *sure* do not hide any trojans, etc.,
reformatting your hard disks and reintalling the entire
operating system from trusted media as well as any applications
you need.

A clean ftp (check the check sum!) from a trusted source is
worth a try, but if it fails to clear up the problem, then,
pain or not, you've got to do the hard thing.
