Anyone offer me any advice please.
I have been processing SETI units on and off, for a few years now. On
the 7th July, I suddenly stopped being able to send processed units
back. I have done the following:
1. Installed the latest version of the Windows client.
2. Wiped the existing install completely and did a fresh install.
2. Temporarily disabled my firewalls.
3. Tried the "connect now method" described in the help, and read the
messages as I was trying to connect manually. Nothing showing up as
peculiar.
Nothing has changed from my end as far as I know, and when I do a
completely clean install, it downloads a new unit for processing, but
when it comes to returning it, I get an error message that says "Can't
connect to server, will try again. (Error -20;2)"
Anyone got any idea what is causing this ?
FatHippy, just checked the cricket on seti server and saw that they have
been down at least three times today. If I remember correctly that error
message is an indication that they are off line. So suggest that you try
again Later. Looks like they are currently online thou.
Thanks for your advice. Tried again (in fact it's set for repeated
tries), but still the same problem. It looks like I have been getting
the same problem since the 7th July, and it's bound to have been up
sometime during that period.
By the way, why does the status page say it's up, if it isn't ?
