Thanks for your advice. Tried again (in fact it's set for repeated
tries), but still the same problem. It looks like I have been getting
the same problem since the 7th July, and it's bound to have been up
sometime during that period.

Your right they have been up almost constantly during that time.  Looked at
your header and appears that you are overseas (sorry not in the USA) so you
might want to check with your service provider to see if there is an issue
with proxy server to seti.  Seems like I saw a bunch of problems involving
that from a group in the UK.  They maybe able to help you more than I
(newbie shaking head as more hair falls out).

By the way, why does the status page say it's up, if it isn't ?

It sometimes takes the staff awhile to update the pages.  Seems like they
would have an automated script for routine maintenance but looks like they
don't.
