It's more then likely a bit of SSL security certificate from your
browser that got mixed up with your setilog, hence the references to MS
and Verisign.
I was thinking about something like that as well, but the IE 3.0 (as far as I know) does
not have ActiveX, nor the associated Certificate System yet (?)
There are however 6 Files (4 .dll's , Telnet.exe and an IE Setup program) that carry
"Verisign".
(to my surprise actually. Looks like MS cooperated with them long before the ActiveX
Certificates were included in later IE Versions)
Only 2 Files (Telnet.exe and wintrust.dll) carry "Root Authority" in them (these also
contain "Verisign" )
These must have come along with the latest Win95 Patches that were available.
So after all, it is possible...
But the odds of this happening appear doubtful... Doubful enough that I don't like what
happened :p
