Running night long with slow charge of RAM : SetiGate, seti-cmdline-303, Antivirus are
only active
applications.

Hm, the Antivirus certainly needs to be configured as not to scan the SETI work directory
at every write access.
I don't know if you changed anything in it's config, but I'd test the performance with the
Antivirus disabled for a while.

I also don't know if the Updates install any new (likely unneeded) Services. After all,
default WinXP is full of those :p
