What else is running in the background - and consuming CPU cycles?
Do you know how to "turn things off" using Ctl+Alt+Del, and use MSCONFIG to
experiment?

I read about the speed others process their SETI packets, and I think
there
may be something wrong with my system.

I have a XP1800+ CPU, 256 MB RAM, 1 GB Swapfile, running Windows XP SP1
and
SETI@Home 3.08 with graphics as screensaver. My system uses about 30 hours
CPU-time pr. packet, isn't that a bit too long?
